System Settings
Netsso is interactive, dynamic, web-based software. It therefore has to use some features of your internet browser that many websites do not need to use, in order to function properly.

Netsso works best in Internet Explorer. It also works well in FireFox except for creation and direct-dialling of Login Links. (See the discussion under "About the Logger" and "IE or Firefox"). (However, if you install the "IETab" Add-On to FireFox, which takes less than a minute, then you can smoothly access all functions in Internet Explorer-only or -mainly websites, without leaving FireFox)

For full functionality, you should enable the following settings in your browser
  • "scripting" or "javascript" (This enables your data to be en/decrypted seamlessly and other features)
  • "Safe ActiveX" (This enables the Netsso "com-object", known as the "Logger" to work properly, to provide you double-click login to websites which require you to enter credentials before granting access)
  • "Cookies" (These live for a computing session only and smooth the process of multi visits to Netsso's server and multi-actions during one session)
  • "Pop-up windows". (These are mostly Netsso dialog windows, wherein you make new links and otherwise manage your Netsso site, including reading Help files)
  • "Downloading files" (This enables you to download a complete –encrypted- copy of your Netsso data, to your local computer, for back up purposes)

You can modify these settings in your browser, usually under the Tools command, and/or Internet Options/ Security

We recommend that a possibly simpler way to modify the settings--applying them for Netsso alone and not for websites generally- is to enter the address/url www.netsso.com into the "Trusted Sites" under the Security tab of your Options menu. If required, detailed steps for modifying settings in various browsers will be available under Netsso's Help/FAQs link on the Netsso desktops.

IE or FIREFOX
Netsso is “optimised” for Internet Explorer browsers, where it works perfectly. It is also continuously being improved for other browsers, especially FireFox

Currently all features work perfectly well in FireFox except the “Logger” features. This means you cannot create Login Links in FireFox and when you double-click an already created Login Link (made in IE perhaps), Netsso will not dial it directly for you...but, instead will present you with the target website’s url (address) and your username and password. You can then copy-paste these in the normal way, to login to the website.

While this is less satisfactory than an “auto-dial”, it is still better than having to remember web site exact names and addresses and your username and complex passwords for each site. Also, it means you can use unique highly complex passwords for each of your websites where they are required.

You might also decide to use the “IETab” add-on which is available for FireFox, by download from the Internet. It takes only a few seconds to add this into your FireFox browser and it enables you to work smoothly with any “Internet Explorer-only” website, without closing FireFox. In Netsso , it enables you to work seamlessly with the Logger, including its auto-dial into your password-protected networks, etc.
