Link Preview

You can preview some types of links from inside Netsso. The  “Preview” option is supported for

  • Links to some types of files in your online stores and files shared with you, both for encrypted and for non-encrypted files. Preview is available for images(.png, .bmp, .jpeg, .jpg, .gif), text files(.txt), pdf files(.pdf), html files(.htm, .html), audio(.mp3, .ogg, .wav) and video (.mp4, .webm).
  • Some Netsso simple links.
  • Netsso Notes.
NOTE Some browsers may not support previewing of some types of audio and video files specified above.
NOTE For security reasons preview of a Simple link is possible only with some restrictions. For some links these restrictions will not allow a preview of the link or its content will not be shown properly. In these cases your option is to open the link in a separate window.

To preview a link click “Preview Link” in context (right-click) menu of the link:

Viewers for every type of link are different. For example, the pdf file viewer looks like

Nevertheless all viewers have common features. At the top left is shown the name of file opened in the viewer. Arrows to left and right enable navigation through files without leaving the viewer.  The icon with the “x” at the top right is used for closing the viewer. The one beside it enables downloading or opening the file in a separate window (depending on the browser, storage and type of file).

If you start previewing from a link which is not included in a “Collection”, then arrow navigation will continue over all links on the desktop. If a link cannot be previewed then an appropriate message will be shown. If you start from a link inside a Collection,  then navigation will be confined to the links in that Collection.

In “Preview” mode, all files, except non encrypted audio and video files, are downloaded first, then decrypted if necessary and only then shown in the viewer. In some cases it will require time. Nevertheless you can always interrupt this by closing the viewer.

NOTE Video and audio files can be quite large and therefore the need to download a whole encrypted audio/video file and then decrypt it before showing it in the viewer may  take a long time.
