Privacy statement

Netsso, and its owner and operator, Herbert Street Technologies Ltd, of Dublin, Ireland, fully respects your right to privacy and will collect no personal information about you when you visit this website, other than technical details in connection with your visit which are logged automatically for traffic management purposes, and site management purposes, as listed below, and usernames, for authentication purposes.

As an Irish company we strictly observe Irish and EU laws related to data privacy

The technical details logged are confined to the following items: the IP address of your computer (an IP address is the number automatically assigned to your computer when you are surfing the web);
the type of browser and operating system used to access our site (for example Internet Explorer, Firefox, Windows, Linux) the date and time of when you access our site; the website from which you accessed our site including any search terms used

We use this information to help us make our site more useful to visitors, to learn about the number of visitors to our site and the type of technology which our visitors use. We may compile and report aggregate statistics about our users in terms of numbers, traffic patterns and related site information. Any such statistics will not include any personally identifying information.

A user's personal preference and demographic data, collected at registration of the user as a member of Netsso, may be used by Netsso, only when aggregated with similar data from other users, to classify users into different age groups, or language groups, and similar groups, for advertising and marketing purposes and for the purposes of better targeting Netsso's service. Furthermore, that data is held confidentially inside Netsso and is not made available for commercial or other reasons to any other persons or organisations, although it may selectively be made available by order of a court or legally eligible person, as per the laws of Ireland, in connection with criminal investigations.

A user's username, and other registration data referred to in the previous paragraph, is required by Netsso in order to authenticate the user when the user requires Netsso to deliver to him his own credentials information pertaining to other web places, which the user stores in Netsso's database. Also, the user may need or wish to change his Master Password (- for example if he loses it-) and in such a circumstance Netsso needs to authenticate the user in order to avoid fraud being perpetrated against the user by some other user.

A user's Master Password is not known to Netsso. Only a hash of the password is used, at user access time, to authenticate the user and that hash of necessity must be known to Netsso but the password itself cannot be deduced from the hash.

Further interpretations of Netsso's privacy policy made be read in our Terms and Conditions of Service, under section B, related to Netsso's security guarantees. In particular, we state that Netsso does not know and cannot know the web places (urls) which Netsso users access via the Netsso service, as this data is encrypted when held on Netsso and is decrypted only on the user's local computer. Encryption is always under the exclusive control of the user/ owner of the data in question. Consequently, Netsso cannot provide a decrypted version of a users data held on Netsso to any other party.
